To encourage a graduate to enter the field of either business or law.

RENEWAL NOTE: Prior scholarship recipients please renew using the 2024 renewal application form. Due March 31, 2024.

Criteria

  • Attend an accredited private or public four-year institution.
  • Be a graduating senior at any one of the six secondary schools within the Northshore School District.
  • Minimum GPA to receive scholarship is 3.5.
  • Candidates will have a strong record of service to community, school and others.
  • Limited to the fields of either Business or Law.
  • Demonstrates a financial need.
  • Must provide grade transcripts and scores for SAT or ACT.
  • Letters of recommendation accepted, but not required.

Requirements

  • Finalists will be interviewed by a team comprised of, or appointed by, the Carter family.
  • Recipient is encouraged to apply for renewal based on evidence that the recipient is progressing satisfactorily toward completing a college education within a reasonable period.
  • Student to maintain a 3.0 grade point in college, and continue to show commitment to service.
  • The scholarship is renewable for three academic years.
